Taking major action, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR against Unity Infraprojects Limited (UIL) for defrauding State Bank of India (SBI) and 15 other banks to the tune of Rs 3,847.58 crore.

Under this, CBI has registered an FIR against the company’s Chairman Managing Director (CMD) Kishore Oursekar and three directors and public servants. CBI has taken this action after a complaint was lodged by the Deputy General Manager of Stressed Assets Management Branch I of SBI on Thursday last week.

According to the complaint, fund-based and non-fund based loans of approximately Rs 3,800 crore were provided to Unity Infraprojects Limited by SBI and other banks.

In the complaint lodged by the banks, it was alleged that this fraud took place in the commercial branch of the company in Mumbai. The accused persons have made fake transactions as well as falsified account books at this place to defraud the bank and get illegal benefits at cost.

Apart from this, acts like wrong adjusting entry, non-union accounts and unexplained extra payment have also been carried out by the company through fake transactions using LC trade model.

The FIR has been registered against the company under sections 120 B and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 13 (2), 13 (1) (d) of the Indian Penal Code, which include criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal misconduct. Has been accused for.
